Mirage Hobby (Plastics) 1/400 U-570 / HMS Graph German Type V11C WW2 Submarine Kit (40411)
Commissioned with the Kreigsmarine in May 1941 U570 was apparantly on her first war patrol when she was found south of Iceland by an RAF Coastal Command Lockhead Hudson aircraft. The aircrafts attacks damaged the submarines' diving planes, preventing her from escaping below the surface and caused damage to her bow, jamming the torpedoes in the tubes. Left with few options U570 CO surrendered to the aircraft and the boat was captured by the Royal Navy 27 August 1941.
Recommissioned into the RN as HMS Graph following an extensive investigation of her equipements and technologies, the submarine subsequently undertook training exercises and war patrols under the white ensign.
