A flat bottomed boat from Prevence. Vessels of this type were commonly used along the Rhone River for transporting building timber and tiles .The boats, however disappeared as railway transport became widespread.

A fishing vessel built in Honfleur in Le Harve Bay, surveyed in 1866, typical of boats from this area, all had similar characteristics  and varied only in length, though never exceeding 10m.
The Esperance kit comes laser cut and has a simple construction suitable for beginners.

This 44-foot Coast Guard is a very seaworthy lifeboat, designed to carry out search and rescue assignments in poor weather and water conditions. With a skilled and experienced crew, this vessel can carry out the most demanding of rescue operations. The vessel is selfstabilizing. The Dana is a typical fishing cutter from North Zealand in Denmark. Around the turn of the century, many boats of this type sailed in along the Danish coast. During the 1920's many of the cutters were fitted with engines, which enabled an even quicker landing of the catch

This shrimp cutter is a typical cutter from the 1960's used for catching shrimp off the German, Dutch and Danish coasts. The equipment on board includes the necessary shrimp sieves and cookers for immediate preparation of the catch.

This is a French "bisquine" from the 17th Century. The bisquine vessels are easy to identify due to their characteristic shape and extensive sails. The hull design can be traced back to that of French and English cutters from the late 17th Century. Length 18 m, sail area 350 m2.

RS 1 was built in 1893 for the "Norwegian Society for Shipwreck Salvage" at the Colin Archer shipyard in Rekkevig near Larvik, Norway. RS 1 was later named "Colin Archer" after its designer and builder. The Billing Boats model of Colin Archer is suitable for remote control installation. Each model kit is equipped with a numbered and signed certificate.

Götheborg is a replica of a vessel, owned by The Swedish East India Company, formed in 1731 in Gothenburg. The Swedish East India Company was trading tea, porcelain and silk in China.On the homeward voyage from China one of the Company's ships foundered in 1745. When almost in home-port, the ship ran aground on a well-known underwater rock. It rapidly took on water and sank.The SOIC (Svenska Ostindiska Companiet) was formed in 1993 in order to recreate a copy of the foundered vessel.The Götheborg was built with the main dimensions, alignments, hull and rigging in conformity with a Swedish East Indiaman of the 18th century.The launching took place on June 6th, the Swedish National Day, year 2003. The maiden voyage is expected to depart from Gothenburg in 2005 and will take about two years.

Henry Hudson (1565-1611) was an English explorer who received a commission from the Dutch East India Company to find a Northern trading route to China and Japan.In April 1609 he sailed North and East on the ship the "Halve Maen" to try and find a route around the northern shores of Russia in order to reach the Pacific Ocean that way. After several attempts, which always were stopped by the pack-ice, he crossed the Atlantic to try and find a route north of America. On this voyage he sailed up the Hudson River as far as Albany. Later this river valley was settled under the auspices of the Dutch West India Company and became known as the New-Netherlands.

The Mary Ann is the model which Billing Boats started with in 1958. The ship is a typical 45-ton cutter commonly seen in the harbour at Esbjerg, Denmark; often more than 600 cutters of this type can be seen at a time. The model kit is based on the original ship drawings.

Smit Rotterdam was built in 1975 for Smit International BV in Holland, and was at the time of its completion the largest and most powerful tugboat in the world - with a tonnage of 2,273 tons, a length of 75 m, a 22,000 HP engine and a top speed of 16.5 knots. The ship is built with bulb stern and stern nozzle; inboard equipment includes the most modern gear for navigation, steering and radio communication

This vessel was built in 1965 at the N.V. Scheepswerven in Millingen, Holland, and called "Maasbank". In September 1977 it was renamed "Banckert". The Maasbank served for 12 years in the Western part of Holland. Length 32.75 m, breadth 7,85 m, draught 3,40 m. The engine yields 1800 HP.

The Oseberg was found in Norway at Oseberg in Vestfold in 1903, resting on a bed of blue clay and covered with turf and stones. The Oseberg was built in the last half of the 800's and was buried roughly 50 years later. The ship is some 50 to 100 years older than similar vessels which have been found. It lay deep in the water and must have been relatively dangerous under sail.

This original design can be seen in many ports along the French Channel. The boats are socalled stern trawlers, in which the net is pulled in using a tricing line in the rear of the boat. The hull is of steel; and the length is 11 m.

A model of a typical American motor boat, used for tuna fishing in Florida in particular. A motor boat model with plastic hull, especially designed for model builders interested in an RC model.

The schooner Bluenose has a very special place in the history of navigation and yachting. Built to fish off the Newfoundland coast, the ship soon turned out to be such a fast sailer that she won all the great classical regattas along the USA's Eastern coast. She was built in Nova Scotia in l921, and shipwrecked near Haiti in 1946. A true copy - Bluneose II - was launched in l964.

This is the ship which gave its name to the movie starring Katherine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. The story takes place during World War I. The African Queen attacks the German warship "Königin Luise" on Lake Victoria in Africa, after a long and dangerous trip down the tributaries to the lake. The Billing Boats model has a plastic hull and imitation steam engine.

The Zwarte Zee was built in 1963 at J. & K. Smit's Scheepswerven N.V. in Kinderdijk, Holland. Length 77.50 m, breadth 12.35 m, draught 6.90 m and gross tonnage 1,539 tons. Driven by two Smit-M.A.N. turbo diesel engines yielding 9,000 HP. These machines drive a single propeller shaft through Vulcan fluid clutches and reduction gears. When a fast manoeuver is necessary, one of the engines can drive forwards, the other reverse. Speed 18 knots.

A typical Danish seiner, with a gross tonnage of 63.43 and built in 1929/1930 at the Nyborg Shipyard in Denmark. The ship was sold to the Faroe Islands in 1930 as the "Sjóstjørnan" TG II. After a period of 20 years with various owners and names, the ship was sold to Iceland in 1950, and was now called "Arnanes".

This Viking ship, dating from about 1000 A.D. was found in 1957 in the bay at Roskilde in Denmark. The wreck was salvaged in 1962, and after a thorough preservation it was possible to carry out a reconstruction of the vessel. Today the ship is on display at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde.

This tug boat was approved by the American navy on 22 May 1941 and given the name "YT146 HOGA". It was then posted with the 14^th navy station at Pearl Harbor. After only six months in service, the HOGA was put to a far greater test than had been expected, when Pearl Harbor was attacked on 7 December 194l. The HOGA fought without break for 48 hours, extinguishing fires, tugging bombed warships and rescuing seamen. Today the HOGA is the only vessel still in existence from the time of the Japanese attack.

A Classic American runabout from the mid-1920s. This type of boat was mainly used as racingboats, but in some cases also as tenders, for those who had a lager yacht.Racingboats from that time was build in beautiful classic materials such as teak and mahogany.If you had a 100-150 hp engine back then, you had one of the most powerful engines.The model is based on a fast 34 foot tender.

One of the greatest Boeier builders, Eeltje Holtrop van der Zee from Friesland, built a Boeier in the town of Joure in 1886. The ship was built for a Mr. A.E. Jürjens and was given the name "Sperwer". The vessel was intended as a "Pleziervaartuig", in other words as a pleasure yacht. This type of ship was originally also used for coastal navigation. The newspaper "Hamburger Kronikken" from 1525 gives an account of an unbelievable adventure, in which Mr. Herman Evers had sailed with a Boeier with smack sails to England in Easter that year.

This Danish sloop was one of the most common vessels seen along the Danish coasts throughout the 19th and early part of the 20th Century. The fine little ship sailed betwen the Danish islands with passengers and cargo.

The adventurer Captain Raumond Rallier Du Baty and his companions shared the same thirst for the unknown. The Kerguelen Islands beckoned - those cold Antarctic islands, today considered as being unimportant rocks in the ocean, and which only the French know belong to them, were the target for an expedition on La Curieuse at the beginning of the 20th Century. Length 20.75 m, breadth 5.84 m, draught 3,20 m, sail area 217.5 m2.
