Solent Models 1/1250 SOM 24f Lucille Bloomfield, C2-S-B1 freighter 1956-1968
This C2-S-B1 standard freighter was completed in 1946 as Mountain Wave but was sold on to States Marine Lines of New York almost immediately and re-named Golden State. In 1956 she was sold again to Broomfield Steamship Company of Houston and re-named Lucille Bloomfield. The 1/1250 scale waterline model is by Solent Models, SOM 24f.
This model could also represent one of Bloomfield Steamship's sister vessels, Alice Bloomfield, Margaret Brown or Neva West and they sailed from US Gulf ports to New York and Northern Europe. Lucille Bloomfield was sold in 1968, re-named Raleigh and scrapped in Pusan in 1972.
