Wooden boat kits require skill and patience in assembly. Some have solid or plastic ABS hulls which makes construction much quicker and easier, with the masts and rig requiring the most work. The usual form of construction is plank on frame and that requires a higher level of patience and skill but the result can be a museum quality model. That's down to you!

All current models are complete with fittings, although most will require glues and finishing tools.

Victory Models 1/64 HM Cutter Lady Nelson (1300/01)

Producing a finished model with an overall length of 570mm and a height of 510mm, this good quality kit is the first from an association between Euromodels of England and Amaiti of Italy. Everything required to finish the model is in the box, including a polished hardwood baseboard and turned brass columns for display.

Double planking hull, aided by the fact that most parts are laser cut for accuracy. Limewood and walnut is provided for the planking and tanyanika for the deck.

A very pretty little ship.

Lady Nelson was built at Deptford in 1799 and purchased by the Royal Navy in 1800. She was primarily used for custom and excise duty as she was fast due to her sleek lines. She remained in service until 1825. The wreck of the Lady Nelson can be dived on today just off Babber Island near Timor.
