Most wooden boat kits require skill and patience in assembly. Usually the easiest to build, some are supplied with either solid or plastic ABS hulls and masts and rig are the hardest part. The most usual form of construction is plank on frame and that requires the most patience and skill.

All the current models we supply are complete with fittings, although most will require glues and finishing tools.

Mantua / Sergal 1/17 French Caronada Naval Gun Kit (800)
A 19th century naval gun, the French Caronada followed an English pattern from the previous century. The strengthened breech, screw sight and tracked gun carriage made the French gun more efficient. This model kit contains laser cut wooden parts for the gun carriage, deck and ship gun port, with brass gun barrel, cannonballs and fittings. Illustrated instructions in several languages are supplied.

French Caronade - XIX century This Caronade was built by the French following the style of the English developed a century before. The screwed sight, the stronger breech & gun carriage running on a track, made the French caronade more efficient. The gun was placed into the first & second rate vessels like the “Toulonnaise”, “La Belle Poule” and the “Valmy”.
