Albatros 1/1250 HMS Bristol, Royal Navy Type 82 Destroyer (Alk81)
Designed to escort the cancelled CAV-01 Fleet Carriers, Bristol was the only ship of her class to be completed.
This unique ship was finally built as a trials ship and used to test the concept of "maintenance by replacement" of her gas turbines. She did serve in the South Atlantic but arrived there after the fighting had ended. Decommissioned in 1991, she is still in Portsmouth and serving as a Sea Cadet Accommodation Ship.
