Navis's usual good representation of this famous British battleship that was launched just in time for WWI, as lead ship of the Revenge class battleships, although this is often mislabeled as the Royal Sovereign class. It consisted of 5 dreadnoughts, the HMS Revenge, Ramillies,Resolution, Royal Oak, and Royal Sovereign. These ships were built at a cost of £2.5 million, could travel at 22 knots, were 187 metres long, and held a crew of almost a thousand. The displacement was 31,500 tons, and they had 8 15 inch guns, 14 6 inch guns, a pair of 3 inch guns, and four torpedo tubes. A lot of firepower! HMS Revenge fought at jutland without being hit and had no casualties. During this battle, she temporarily became the flagship of a vice admiral after his ship,HMS Marlborough was torpedoed. Revenge survived the war, and went on to play a limited role, mostly trans-Atlantic convoy escorts, during WW2I. Scrapped in 1948, after surviving two world wars, she would have been a fine example of a battleship to preserve. | |

Originally designed as a "Large Light Cruiser" to attack German interests in the Baltic sea during WW1, Furious was equipped with an aircraft flying-off deck in place of the forward 18" gun turret from the start of her long naval career. By 1918, a second landing on deck had been added in place of the aft turret (as modelled) and in this form her aircraft raided the Zepplin sheds at Tondern. Turbulence from the funnel affected the handling of aircraft when landing and she was again converted to a flush decked aircraft carrier and served in WW2. | |

Cunard took over the Royal Edward & Royal George from the Canadian Northern Steamship Co. in 1916. Royal Edward was sunk in the Med. whilst trooping but Royal George resumed sailings from Bristol to Canada in Cunard livery after WW1. Royal George had been built for Mediterranean service and was reported to roll badly in the North Atlantic (despite having been cut down by one deck) so she was an early candidate for withdrawal and was broken up in the 1920s, shortly after the service was moved to Southampton! Royal George is available in Canadian Northern livery, Navis 900. | |
