Navis Neptun 1/1250 Askold, a Russian Protected Cruiser from the Russo-Japanese War (643N)
NEW FOR 2007! Known during her time in British service as "a packet of Woodbines" because of her 5 funnels! See also the "Copy Models" of Gromoboi & Rurik on this page.
Askold was built by Krupp, Germania Works and completed in 1901. During WW1, she served in the Med. and the White Sea, where she was seized by the British and commissioned by the RN as Glory IV! (and here she got her nickname because there were 5 Woodbine cigarettes in a packet!) She was scrapped in 1921.
