Triumph at Pearl Harbor, disaster at Midway!
The Japanese had decided to convert two Battlecruisers to Carriers (Akagi & Amagi) after the Washington Treaty. The hull of Amagi was destroyed in an earthquake, so Kaga (a Tosa class Battleship) was converted instead. Although she was always slower than the other Fleet Carriers, she was tough and took longest to sink at Midway! | |
