Commissioned in 1965, Hecla was the name vessel for its class of 4 survey vessels. Three of the class are still at work today for other nations.
Hecla and sisters served as a hospital ships during the Falklands Campaign. Hecate was always grey and relieved Endurance during the campaign.
Hecla & Herald are Bligh & Somerville in Ireland. Hydra is Dewa Kembar in Indonesia. | |
