Completed in time to provide close in anti-aircraft defence to the task force in the Falklands campaign, these large ships came to be regarded as undergunned and were sold to Chile rather than being refitted for further service with the Royal Navy. Chile acquired a proven deterrent against Argentinian aircraft!
Albatros also make HMS London, a stretched Batch 2 version, and HMS Cumberland (Batch 3) with a 4.5" gun forward.
