Albatros 1/1250 HMS Kent, Royal Navy Guided Missile Destroyer (DLG) (Alk85A)
Completed in 1963, Kent retained 4x4.5" guns throughout her active career.
Designed around the Seaslug missile system, these large ships were almost as big as light cruisers. When the beam-riding Seaslug became obsolescent, some were re-armed with exocets but Kent soldiered on with minimum modernisations becoming a harbour ship in 1980 and remaining at Portsmouth long after her sisters were either scrapped or sold.
