The Dutch in Batavia seized this ship in 1940 in retaliation for the German invasion of Holland!
Following seizure by the Dutch in 1940, she was re-named "Berakit" and was employed in the Pacific in service of the Allied war effort. In 1943, she was torpedoed and shelled by the Japanese submarine, I27 and sank. | |
