Mercator was originally produced in German and then taken over by Skytrex. Many of the original German models are still available but Skytrex have stopped producing their own castings for the moment so where there is no stock newer models are no longer being made.
Mercator 1/1250 Alicante, Sloman Mediterranean Line, 1934 (M506)
Another of the 1930s German ships with a Maierform bow.
Alicante was taken over by the Kriegsmarine and used as a transport in the Mediterranean. She exploded in Piraeus harbour in 1941 and burned out.
