Hai 1/1250 IJNS Unebi, a Protected Cruiser (1897) (395)
Unebi was built by the French for the Japanese Navy. With heavy guns mounted outboard on sponsons and rigged for sail, the Japanese were slow to accept the ship because there were fears for  her stability. With tension growing with China, they accepted the ship after trials but she disappeared a few months later off Singapore......
