Aquitania was the last 4-funnel trans-Atlantic liner in service, surviving until after WW2. She was not built for absolute speed like Lusitania & Mauritania but Cunard needed a third ship to maintain their timetable and match the Olympic class ships of the White Star Line. She served as a Hospital Ship & a Troopship in WW1 and a Troopship in WW2. | |
