Carat 1/1250 Sea Cloud, the famous Sail Cruise Ship, 1998 (CSG009)
Originally built in 1926 for Marjorie M. Post & Edward F. Hutton, she was to be the largest private yacht in the world. During WW2 her masts were cut down & she became a US Navy patrol ship but she now provides luxury cruises in the Mediterranean!

Sea Cloud has had a long and interesting career, as have most private yachts that have survived from this era. Originally named "Hussar", she was given her present name in 1935. During WW2, she was designated a patrol vessel (IX99 - see the Albatros K model that Antics also stock!) Since the war, she has had various names and roles before her luxury interiors were restored and she began taking paying guests on luxury cruises.
