You can only enthuse about the quality of these superb  1:1250 merchantmen. Until the end of 2003 Carat operated in conjunction with Classic Ship Collection but both both are now independent and produce models with good definition and excellent definition in the fine detail.
Carat 1/1250 S.A.Van Der Stel, South African Cargo Ship, 1970 (078 WL WF)
A fully rigged and detailed model of a Dutch-built ship of the 1960s.
This ship ran regularly between South Africa and Europe and had accommodation for 12 passengers. She was lengthened by 27m in Japan in 1974 but was withdrawn from service and scrapped in 1984.
